Hi, everyone. Some of you may have noticed that I changed the name of this account to @nryn.pix. In January of this year I bought a rural property that I’m calling Etherfarm. It was intended to be a weekend getaway destination but when the pandemic started ramping up, our family retreated to Etherfarm and it became a refuge. Here, we can practice social distancing in the extreme. I’m posting about our adventure on IGTV and in the feed of a new account (with an old name), @etherfarm . I’m also posting to etherfarm.com.

This account will still be used for photography. The 160 acres at Etherfarm (see Episode 3 of the Video Journal for an aerial tour) and the vast expanse of the surrounding area are absolutely gorgeous and after a lot of work, we’re now set up enough here that I’m taking my camera out from time to time (these pics were from the other day). In theory a pandemic should allow me plenty of time to cull and sort my hundreds of thousands of photographs, right?

Let’s review, shall we? Capital-P Photography here at @nryn.pix: / farm life at @etherfarm / personal at @nryn.nyr
I hope you are all well and staying safe.

Kenai Peninsula: Homer, Alaska. Fireweed, ocean grass and glacier vistas. Buoy art. Boardwalks. Halibut. Alaskan front yards (aka abandoned vehicle landscaping). Strange signs of life on the spit. The end of the road but not the end of the trip.

Kenai Peninsula: Soldotna. Crazy sunsets at 11pm, fly fishing for salmon, river right below your back window. Wife said she hadn’t seen me that happy in a long time.
